Pest Control

Northumberland County Council provides an expert Pest Control service through our dedicated team of qualified technicians in both domestic and commercial premises.  We aim to provide a complete, professional and cost effective service for everyone in Northumberland.

Rodent control 

Treatments for rats and mice inside the family home (your main place of residence) is Free

For treatments of rats and mice in sheds, garages, outhouses, holiday homes/cottages, allotments and gardens etc. there is a charge of £45 which includes up to three visits.

Insect control

Wasps

For wasps nest there is a charge of £45 per nest.

Should you have more than one nest and you report this before the officer arrives you will be charged £45 for the first nest and £23.10 per nest thereafter.

For all other insect pests either inside or outside your house there is a standard charge of £45 which includes up to three visits.  These include:-  ants, fleas, flies, cockroaches, bedbugs and fumigations.

Insect identification service

Free telephone advice is available, however if you wish an officer to call to your property there is a charge of £23.10.

We do not treat, amongst other things bats, bees, moles, slugs, snails, spiders, pigeons, rabbits, squirrels, foxes or woodworm.

Our Pest Control team aim to respond to all requests for service within 2 working days.

To report a Pest Control problem telephone 0845 600 6400.  When you call us your details will be taken and an officer from the Pest Control service will call you back to arrange an appointment. 

NB please note there must be someone present at the property when our technicians call out.  We will not enter premises or gardens unaccompanied for our own security and health & safety reasons.  We need to leave advice and information with a responsible person after our treatment.

Commercial premises

We offer discreet assistance with pest-related problems to business at very competitive rates.

We offer treatments and 12 month contracts which are tailored to your needs.

Our contracts provide you with any necessary treatments, regular inspections and free call outs should you need us between your visits.
